For your first visit, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will allow for time to fill out any necessary paperwork and confirm your dental insurance benefits. Your dental appointment will take approximately 60- 90 minutes, allowing time for xrays, your cleaning, as well as a thorough comprehensive exam by Dr. Silver.
Dr. Silver also encourages you to familiarize yourself with your medical history prior to your initial appointment. If you are able to, please provide a list of your medications and dosages for us to keep on file. We will also inquire of any changes in your medical history at each subsequent appointment.
The American Heart Association and The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons require certain patients with heart conditions and total joint replacements to “premedicate” with an antibiotic before certain dental procedures. Antibiotic prophylaxis is crucial to prevent an infection from developing in the heart or at the site of the joint replacement. Please check with your physician, cardiologist, or orthopedic surgeon if premedication is necessary for you.
